Steve is a co-founding Principal of The Alt Key and has over 30 years of experience serving small businesses and entrepreneurs from the early planning stages to maturity. His passion for small business started at an early age growing up in a family of entrepreneurs. His mentoring of small business owners began after college when he was recruited to a national consulting firm. He has assisted start-ups with business plans, projections, accounting software, and managing by the numbers. Steve has worked for both local and national CPA firms serving clients with tax planning and preparation, and representing clients before the IRS and state tax authorities. He has opened several of his own CPA firms and his personal experience with establishing, operating, merging, and selling his own small businesses makes him a valuable resource to clients.
Steve is a graduate of Southwest Minnesota State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Masters in Tax from the Golden Gate University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner™. Steve is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA).
Steve is married to Linda and father to Brayden, Travis, Alyssa and Chelsea.
